How many toilets do I need?

On a Construction Site

To meet UK health and safety guidance, you must provide suitable and sufficient welfare facilities for your workforce.

Based on HSE guidance and British Standard BS6465-1:2006, a commonly applied ratio is:

One portable toilet unit per 7 workers for a standard working week.

If your site has visitors, multiple shifts or higher usage, additional units may be required to maintain compliance and comfort.

For Standard Events

As a general industry guideline:

One standard portable toilet unit will typically cater for between 50 to 100 guests over an 8-hour event.

For longer events, events serving alcohol, or where higher usage is expected, additional toilets are recommended to minimise queues and maintain hygiene standards.

What is your minimum hire period?

Events: Minimum 2-day hire
Construction / Site Hire: Minimum 2-week hire

Do the toilets need water or drainage?

No. Our standard portable toilets are fully self-contained and do not require water or drainage connections.

Luxury trailers may require power and water depending on configuration, which we will advise at the time of booking.

Do you service the toilets during hire?

Yes. For long-term or multi-day hires, we provide scheduled servicing including cleaning, waste removal and replenishment of consumables.

Can I book a one-off toilet service?

Yes. We offer both one-off services and regular servicing schedules.

Do you offer discounts for multiple units?

Yes. We offer competitive pricing and discounted rates for multiple units at the same location.

Do you clean customer-owned toilets?

Yes. If you own your own portable toilet, we can provide a professional pump-out and cleaning service without the need to hire a unit from us.

How many guests will a luxury toilet trailer serve?

Luxury toilet trailers provide multiple cubicles and higher-capacity waste tanks, making them suitable for larger gatherings.

Suitable for approximately up to 150 guests over an 8-hour event.

3+1 Luxury Trailer

(Three ladies’ cubicles and one men’s cubical and urinal)

Suitable for approximately up to 300 guests over an 8-hour event.
