How many toilets do I need?

On a Construction Site 

To meet UK health and safety guidance, you must provide suitable and sufficient welfare facilities for your workforce.

Based on HSE guidance and British Standard BS6465-1:2006, a commonly applied ratio is:

One portable toilet unit per 7 workers for a standard working week.

If your site has visitors, multiple shifts or higher usage, additional units may be required to maintain compliance and comfort.

 

For Standard Events 

As a general industry guideline:

One standard portable toilet unit will typically cater for between 50 to 100 guests over an 8-hour event.

For longer events, events serving alcohol, or where higher usage is expected, additional toilets are recommended to minimise queues and maintain hygiene standards.
